| What is Silicone Resin?
- Silicone resin is a Polysiloxane system which has degree of crosslink. The crosslinking of silicone resin can be obtained with trifunctional or tetrafunctional silanes as the parent substance. Among silicone resins, the substance which has 1.5 oxygen molecules per silicone molecule is called polysilsesquioxane.
- When trifunctional silane is used as parent substance, growth of polysilsesquioxane particle is made by 3-dimentional polymerization of trisilanol and such chemical reaction is used in the particle composition of Pigmentary TiO2/Silicone Resin.
- In general, the network structure of silicone resin is; [RSiO3/2]n[RSi(OH)O2/2]m .
In this formula, R is Alkyl or Phenyl group, R-Si is organic structure, Si-O/Si-OH contains the characteristic of unique inorganic macromolecular of inorganic structure. Among such silicone resins, the one which R is methyl group is PolymethylsilsesquioxanPolymethylsilsesquioxane (PMSQ).
- According to the PMSQ particle generation condition, the ratio of surface R-Si/Si-OH, that is, the n/m ration of above formula is controlled, and under composition condition, m increases and it enables variety surface treatment after generation of composition particle.

This is complex powder which uses Pigmentary TiO2 75wt% as core particle then coats PMSQ silicone resin. In water dispersed system, as it is coated with PMSQ silicone resin after full dispersing by primary particle, it sustains excellent dispersibility under any environment from powder mixture system to dispersing or emulsifying system. Also, variety surface treatment is available using surface Silanol which distributes on complex powder surface. |

Expected effect in cosmetics 1) Improving texture and dispersibility of Pigmentary TiO2 having strong agglomerating property -> Allows characteristics of one level advanced superior white pigment more than existing silica coating TiO2 2) As the silicone resin pellicle layer of particle surface is similar with the index of refraction sebum, it prevents the deterioration of whiteness and coverage from wetting by sebum after make-up. -> Improving sustainability of make-up. ( no dark and dull skin after make-up)
